ABOUT US
Central
Avalon Ground Search and Rescue (CAGSAR) is a non-profit volunteer
organization, based out of Holyrood, Newfoundland, that assists
the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the search for lost persons and/or
evidence. Our organization also assists Transport Canada with Safe
Boating displays and information sessions. CAGSAR also teaches young
children the Hug-A-Tree program, which is designed to help them remain
in one location if they are ever lost.
CAGSAR is affiliated with
the Newfoundland and Labrador Ground Search and Rescue
Association, Provincial Department of Justice, National
Search and Secretariat, and the Search and Resuce Volunteer Association
of Canada.
Currently, Central Avalon Ground Search and Rescue
consists of 5 Executive Members and a total Membership of 27. At this
point in time our training levels consist of:
3 Search Managers
22 Searcher II Members
